Week 73 18 months is not all the Lord asks from us!

Image
FRIENDS AND FAMILY, BROTHERS AND SISTERS, CHILDREN OF GOD,  I sincerely hoped this day would never come. It is my last official P-day as a full-time missionary! I arrive home next Tuesday, which is CRAZY!! This will be my last weekly as everything will be packed away and I will be spending the day with my Mission President and his wife next Monday.  It has been an amazing week and I know it will continue to be a great final week. Our leaders pushed hard on prayerfully, setting and acheiving goals at combined district council and it was incredible as we applied their council we were able to find more people to teach this last week than we got to all of last month!! We also got to have quite a few of our friends at online church which was a HUGE blessing!! One tender mercy we saw was our new friend Ben! Some other missionaries referred him our way as they are teaching his younger brother! We were playing phone tag with him for most of the week but luckily last night he gave us a call b

Week 72 Trick-or-treat, swollen feet, 155 pieces of candy to eat

FRIENDS AND FAMILY, BROTHERS AND SISTERS, CHILDREN OF GOD,  Wow wow wow HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!! I hope you all had the best and most festive Holiday, ours was definitely eventful.  We continue to teach our good friend Ray, we talked about the Restoration this week and he said that so far everything that he has heard lines up with his beliefs and the bible. He is superrrrr cool.  We got to see and talk to lots of amazing people this week which as always I loved!!! I don't have a ton of details for you, but just know that I have felt extremely grateful and humbled for the opportunity to have been able to serve in this area around such amazing people. A quote I loved from my studies said:  "Weakness and humility lead to hopefulness, not helplessness." -Scott Swofford I LOVE THIS!! As y'all know I have been studying a lot about humility and I know that as we turn things over to the Lord and recognize our own shortcomings He makes things into so much more than they ever could

Week 71 I had a hot date this week!

FRIENDS AND FAMILY, BROTHERS AND SISTERS, CHILDREN OF GOD,  We have no power. It has been a fun morning. Due to the high winds we won't have power back till tomorrow, but no worries God is good and we have a back-up generator. Blessed.  We had a very good and weird week. Facebook has been blowing up and we have been talking to lots and lots of people about the gospel, one of those people that we got to start teaching is Ray. RAY IS SO COOL. Basically we brought up the Book of Mormon and his first 3 questions were how can I get it? can I read it? and do you do studies that I could learn more about it? WE WERE AMAZED. Honestly I was very skeptical bc it seemed too good to be true. BUT sure enough we had a zoom lesson on Wednesday and he just explained how he feels that things are missing in his life and from the bible and how he really is seeking for that missing piece. He told us that he is really just working on following the will of God and thus far he has loved everything that

Week 70 Spooky Season

Image
FRIENDS AND FAMILY, BROTHERS AND SISTERS, CHILDREN OF GOD,  We did lots and lots of service this week!! Which I LOVE. It is amazing what a simple I am thinking about you can do to brighten someone's day. We decided to heart attack some of the people that we are teaching that have been going through a hard time as well as bake cookies for those that we thought would appreciate that more than the hearts haha. It was good and uplifting for everyone involved.   Lots and lots of things fell through which is always weird but luckily God is good and we still got to have lots of lessons and work really hard. One of our comp goals is to not be idle and we are making sure to accomplish that, there is always something to do, someone to help, someone to find. We just gotta keep working.  I came across Ecclesiastes 3:1-2, 11 which reads:  "To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to p

Week 69 Surprise

Image
FRIENDS AND FAMILY, BROTHERS AND SISTERS, CHILDREN OF GOD, Miss me? Surprise, My Pday got changed to Monday this week due to Zone Conference being yesterday!!  It was my last zone conference and it didn't feel real. They had me and the other missionaries going home with me get up and give our departing testimony which was all sorts of sad. They had me go last and I was really hoping that they had just forgot about me and that I could stay for a transfer or 10 longer. I love my mission.  Sister Hancock is wonderful and I am happy with my new companionship! It is definitely different than it was with Sister Bunker but it is still oh so good. Sister Hancock is from Pleasant Grove and went to BYU for a year before she came out, so she has all sorts of tips for me which is nice. She was originally assigned to Brazil and is hoping to get there soon. We have been hearing lots and lots of Portuguese which is fun.  We had a good week full of lessons and studies and all the good things. Bob

Week 68 Baptism, Conference and Transfers

FRIENDS AND FAMILY, BROTHERS AND SISTERS, CHILDREN OF GOD, EVERYTHING happened this week. ALL of it. Here is a highlight reel: -BOB GOT BAPTIZED YESTERDAY!!!! It was an amazing poolside service and lots of great people came to support him. He was glowing and said he felt goosebumps the whole time. I love him so so much and am so so so happy that I got to be apart of it all.  -SISTER BUNKER IS LEAVING. Transfers are today and we found out we will be losing her to Novato. She is a rockstar and will be an STL her ENTIRE MISSION!!! I still cannot believe our dreams came true and that we got to be companions, I read a note that I wrote to her right after the MTC and I addressed it to my future companion. God is good and knew that I needed a comp like her, forever grateful.  -We are getting a cutie named Sis Hancock, she came in with Sister Soultz so I will be ending my last transfer with 2 newish missionaries!!! It should be lots of fun.  -LAST BUT CERTAINTLY NOT LEAST GENERAL CONFERENCE

Week 67 #itstheendoftheworld #highwatermark #whydideveryonestopusinghashtags

Friends and family, brothers and sisters, children of God,  We are on fire again, literally and figuratively! Last night we got a call that the Hermanas would be coming to stay the night because they were evacuated!! It has been a fun little slumber party and honestly none of us know how long it will last. The ash is worse than it ever has been before, the floor is coated with it. It is the end of the world, but that's okay because the work moves forward!! My zone has been continuing to kill it and we OFFICIALLY hit our high water mark, with 3 baptisms to go!! These Elders and Sisters are incredible and they have been working SO hard! I am SO glad I got to be apart of it all.  Bob is doing really really good and is making his way back to California! Which is THE BEST because his baptism will be on Sunday!!! We are ALL so excited!! SO PLS PRAY THAT THE FIRES DON'T CHANGE ANYTHING.  I have been teaching Sis Soultz the story of the Book of Mormon, because as a recent convert it ha
