Week 69 Surprise
FRIENDS AND FAMILY, BROTHERS AND SISTERS, CHILDREN OF GOD,
Miss me? Surprise, My Pday got changed to Monday this week due to Zone Conference being yesterday!!
It was my last zone conference and it didn't feel real. They had me and the other missionaries going home with me get up and give our departing testimony which was all sorts of sad. They had me go last and I was really hoping that they had just forgot about me and that I could stay for a transfer or 10 longer. I love my mission.
Sister Hancock is wonderful and I am happy with my new companionship! It is definitely different than it was with Sister Bunker but it is still oh so good. Sister Hancock is from Pleasant Grove and went to BYU for a year before she came out, so she has all sorts of tips for me which is nice. She was originally assigned to Brazil and is hoping to get there soon. We have been hearing lots and lots of Portuguese which is fun.
We had a good week full of lessons and studies and all the good things. Bob is doing amazing and texted us this week because he wanted to make sure he payed his tithing but wasn't sure how. He is the best. I love him.
We set some good plans and got in contact with some of the people we were teaching this week which was a huge blessing, I love these people and the cute lil city of Sebastopol so much.
I just restarted the Book of Mormon and I am marking anytime it refers to humility in green. I did not realize this until now but WOW, Nephi is one humble guy. I have come to understand and realize that humility really isn't "thinking less of yourself, rather its thinking about yourself less" that is really really true. It is easy to make our situations and our lives all about us but it is when we look outwards that we become truly humble. I hope to grow in that humility more and more as time goes on.
Mucho Love,
Sister Tams
Funny/other stuff:
-We did some service at a community garden and ripped up a whole bunch of plants. I am allergic to everything so it was fun to try not to sneeze or cough the whole time.
-I got to see Sister Bunker at Zone Conference for the potential last time on the mission and it was real sad sauce, I love that girl so so much. Enjoy this pic of our awkward group hug. I'm just grateful that I get to see them lots in Utah.
-We realized this week that I am Sister Soultzs mission mom (because I trained her) and Sister Hancocks mission grandma (because I trained her trainer) soooo my daughter and my granddaughter are killing me. (aka going to be my last comps before home) so that's funny.
-We went to the beach after a member dinner and there was a cute couple there whose car died and they needed a jump. They didn't have any service and they were 5 hours away from anyone that they knew. BUT luckily God is good and let us help them get on their way. There really are no coincidences. It was a privilege to get to serve them.
-We got the clean car award at zone conference and the prize was a bag of gummy bears, after sitting in the sun for a few hours though we know have gummy gel. Should be delicious.
-We tried to snake the drain but my dang hair is too tough and we broke the snake in the drain. It was a tricky situation which ended in our landlord having to come and remove the drain for a sec...awk.
