Image
FRIENDS AND FAMILY, BROTHERS AND SISTERS, CHILDREN OF GOD! Well as most of you are probably aware the world is crazy. So thats fun.  We had a pretty normal first half of our week! I am loving Sister Derbidge! She just hit her 4 months this week and even though she isn't technically a greenie she still has mad greenie fire and I LOVE IT. On Tuesday we were able to teach our good friend Gina who we found a few weeks ago. Her mother-in-law told her not to read the Book of Mormon but she told us that ever since she met us things have just felt lighter and not so crazy. We told her that we have been praying for her and we testified of the Book of Mormon bringing peace during trials. She said she is open to it and that she would read it and I am SO stoked.  On Wednesday we were officially put into "Shelter in Place" The work MUST go on though! We have been doing LOTS of Facebook finding and contacted literally everyone in our areabook. Which was a score bc we found ...

FRIENDS AND FAMILY, BROTHERS AND SISTERS, CHILDREN OF GOD, Whats new with you all? Anything fun and exciting been happening around your parts? It has been pretty boring around here honestly. Nothing happening AT ALL...PSYCH ITS A MAD HOUSE.  This week for me as I am sure has been the same for all of you has been unbelievably CRAZY. One thing after another. My new companion Sister Derbidges first week here has been eventful to say the least.  As a missionary we have been asked to get a 2 week supply of food, to not congregate in large groups, and to be cautious but besides that and a few other details its been pretty much business as usual. We had some really good lessons this week but some EVEN better finding times which has been such a blessing!! With all the crazy going around people are not super keen to find you knocking on their door, however, the Lord will provide. We were able to go teach this guy named Jim who has been taught by missionaries for like 5 ...

Week 38 Sad News Y'all...

BROTHERS AND SISTERS, FRIENDS AND FAMILY, CHILDREN OF GOD, MY DEAREST SISTER MOALA IS LEAVING ME. We got the news last night and she is to be in a trio in Vacaville. I'm in mourning, I have loved every single second of being her companion. I don't know if there is a human on this planet who has made me laugh more than her, she is a hoot and I am so excited to go visit her in Tonga.  My new companions name is Sister Derbidge. She is just finishing up her training and coming from Eureka. I have never met her before but she seems super sweet and I am excited to get to know her.  We got to do lots of service this week which I LOVE. We helped a less active family prepare to move and we showed our sweet friend Jean how to use her new Smart Phone. Both of which were very very very entertaining.  We went and visited a bunch of people for Sister Moala to say goodbye to and had some AWESOME lessons. Our good friend Tom told us that before us he believed in God only ...

Week 37 It's a Girl!!!

Image
FRIENDS AND FAMILY, BROTHERS AND SISTERS, CHILDREN OF GOD, GUESS WHAT?!?!? MY SISTER IN LAW IS PREGNANT AND I JUST FOUND OUT IT IS A GIRL. Just in case you were wondering, it is very exciting news. I will have a cute little 2 month old niece when I get home. I am so stoked for them. Especially since they are going to name her after me. (Its only fair) Welp. Poor Sister Moala got real sick this week. It has been going around the mission, she has been super congested and has had a sore throat and a bad cough. I drank Emergen-C like nobodys business but alas I am starting to come down with it too...so pray that it won't get bad enough that it effects the work.  Although she was sick she is a superstar and we still were able to have 17 lessons this week. For the month of February we had a total of 64 lessons. 64!! MIRACLE. Our zone leaders told us yesterday and I got goosebumps. Most of those might be member lessons but one thing is for sure, we are doing something. Somet...

FRIENDS AND FAMILY, BROTHERS AND SISTERS, CHILDREN OF GOD I ALMOST FORGOT THE BEST NEWS!! DENISE GOT BAPTIZED THIS WEEKEND!!!! Its all kinda a blur honestly butttt here are some of the hightlights: 1. WEDNESDAY WAS THE BEST DAY EVER. WE GOT TO GO TO THE TEMPLE. I GOT TO PERFORM AN ENDOWMENT FOR MY 4TH GREAT AUNT HILDA AND IT WAS SO SO SO GREAT. The Oakland temple is BEAUTIFUL. It it seriously a light set on a hill, the view is incredible, you can see almost all of the Bay area. It was such a blessing to go inside again, it has been too long. GO TO THE TEMPLE AS OFTEN AS YOU CAN!! ITS SUCH A BLESSING!  2. On Thursday we had a lesson with our good friend Ginger. We continued to teach her the Plan of Salvation and at the end I asked her if she has ever prayed about baptism. She told us that sh...

Week 35 One Lord, One Faith, One baptism...and ONE WARD

Image
FRIENDS AND FAMILY, BROTHERS AND SISTERS, CHILDREN OF GOD, T'was a weird week. T'was a good week. T'was a week where I taught Sister Moala what T'was meant. lol.  We had a lot of stuff fall through this week which was rough but somehow we still kept really busy and had lots to do! So that was great. We had a few awesome lessons and even got to go to Stake Conference yesterday. I love Stake Conference, especially because our Stake Pres is bomb and just loves the missionaries. He and His wife are in one of our wards and so we get to practice our teaching with them! At first that was very intimidating but they are just the sweetest family and I absolutely love it every time we get to go over.  BIG NEWS! They announced at Stake Conference that the 2 wards that we are over (Benicia and Lake Herman) are COMBINING!! So they are just going to be one megaward (or one Utah ward lol)! Everyone here has been wanting it to happen for years so it is all very exciting. We ...

FRIENDS AND FAMILY, BROTHERS AND SISTERS, CHILDREN OF GOD, WHAT A BUSY WEEK!! We had exchanges and zone conference this week! Both of which were awesome.  Hermana Daniels who is one of our STLs came to Benicia on Tuesday to be with me. We had lots of fun, she wasn't in my mtc district but we came into the field at the same time. Her original call with English speaking but when we got into the field they asked her to go spanish and so she changed her call!! She has been an Hermana ever since and her spanish is very impressive. It was a great exchange and I am grateful for inspired callings.  We also had zone conference this week which was SO amazing!! It was all centered on Family History and using FH as a tool in our work. I told y'all a few weeks ago that me and Sister Moala got called to be the Family History missionaries in our zone. So we were asked to give a presentation about using Family History for events. Our president wanted us to demonstrate the how and ...
