What a week it has been. Its all kinda a blur honestly butttt here are some of the hightlights:

1. WEDNESDAY WAS THE BEST DAY EVER. WE GOT TO GO TO THE TEMPLE. I GOT TO PERFORM AN ENDOWMENT FOR MY 4TH GREAT AUNT HILDA AND IT WAS SO SO SO GREAT. The Oakland temple is BEAUTIFUL. It it seriously a light set on a hill, the view is incredible, you can see almost all of the Bay area. It was such a blessing to go inside again, it has been too long. GO TO THE TEMPLE AS OFTEN AS YOU CAN!! ITS SUCH A BLESSING!

2. On Thursday we had a lesson with our good friend Ginger. We continued to teach her the Plan of Salvation and at the end I asked her if she has ever prayed about baptism. She told us that she hasn't but now that we say it she is going to!! MIRACLE!! She told us that she sees why it would be needed for herself and that she understands the priesthood authority involved. She just needs to ask God. She said that she feels she is making a lot of progress and is working on not feeling like she is doing anything wrong by the church she grew up in by joining our church. She knows its true, so I am STOKED to see the answer she receives!! I LOVE HER SO MUCH. SEND PRAYERS.

3. Also on Thursday we had a lesson with our good friend Mark, and GUESS WHAT?!?!?! MARK KNOWS THAT THE BOOK OF MORMON IS TRUE! He said it was slow going but that as he has prayed and read about it he really feels like he has received an answer and he knows it is true. I WAS SO STOKED! We talked about the restoration and the Great Apostasy more this week and I am so excited to see him continue to progress in the weeks to come. When he talks sometimes he sounds like he has already been a member for 10 years, so we are stoked. He is super solid.

4. We got back into contact with Tom and his wife Sovanny this week! They have been out of town and all over the place but we were able to go over on Wednesday and have a lesson with them and I just love them. They both hold a very special place in my heart. Tom is incredible and seeing his intent has been such a blessing. Out of anyone I have ever taught Tom wants it the most, he really wants to know for himself and being able to help him to get there has been a highlight of my mission.

The wards will be combining next week so yesterday was the last sacrament meeting separated. It was bitter sweet, I think it is going to be great for the ward...for now. My goal is to have so much growth that we have a Benicia stake one day.

As I have been studying this week something that has stuck out to me is the idea of taking up our cross. I never really thought about that or what it really meant to me, until I was reading in Matthew 16:
"24 ¶ Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.
25 For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it."
taking up our cross requires action and sacrifice. It requires seting aside those things (even good things) to seek for things of a better. It requires us to be willing to sacrifice anything/everything to follow our Savior Jesus Christ. I have thought a lot about that, becoming a disciple requires sacrifice. It requires action. It requires heart. Its up to us where our heart lies. I invite each of you to ponder where your heart is and then do whatever you have to do to realign it with where it needs to be.

Mucho Love,
Sister Tams

Other/Funny Things:
-The Senior Couple from my home town found out this week that they are being moved to the mission office by the end of next month. So they won't live in my same apartment complex anymore, sad sauce.
-I had a dream the other night about a chihuahua who wouldn't stop biting me.
-I ate broccoli the other day, by choice. AND I actually enoyed it. I think I might be a big girl now.
-Me and Sister Moala decided it was a good idea to run up and down our hill for excercise the other day which was great until we were SUPER sore the next 3 days.
-Our cute friend Jean got us lunch the other day. Pic feat below.
-Now that we have gone to mutual and taught Seminary we are basically BFFs with the Young Women and I love it. They are amazing.
-The wards are combining and we found out that like 3 families are moving...we love that.
