Week 34 I'll go inside someday Soon!
FRIENDS AND FAMILY, BROTHERS AND SISTERS, CHILDREN OF GOD,
WHAT A BUSY WEEK!! We had exchanges and zone conference this week! Both of which were awesome.
Hermana Daniels who is one of our STLs came to Benicia on Tuesday to be with me. We had lots of fun, she wasn't in my mtc district but we came into the field at the same time. Her original call with English speaking but when we got into the field they asked her to go spanish and so she changed her call!! She has been an Hermana ever since and her spanish is very impressive. It was a great exchange and I am grateful for inspired callings.
We also had zone conference this week which was SO amazing!! It was all centered on Family History and using FH as a tool in our work. I told y'all a few weeks ago that me and Sister Moala got called to be the Family History missionaries in our zone. So we were asked to give a presentation about using Family History for events. Our president wanted us to demonstrate the how and so we set up a table and roleplayed in front of our whole zone. It was pretty intimidating especially because president and the APs always sit in for a little bit which makes me nervous. But the missionaries told us we did good afterwards so it must not have been a total wreck. ahaha.
It has been a weird busy week but we were still able to teach a bunch of member lessons and even some reallly good regular lessons. We saw Ginger on Saturday and asked her how her reading went and if she noticed a difference. As we were sitting there she thought about that and said "woah now that I think about it, yes I did. I felt so much more at peace and so much happier this week...I like that I am going to keep on doing that." MUSIC TO MY EARS! I was so so happy to see her light up with the joy that comes as we are reading in the Book of Mormon everyday! She is so so so amazing and I am so stoked to continue to work with her. She wanted to come to church but she sadly had to drive her grandson to a football practice/game and stay with him. But she said that she LOVED it last week and that she is excited to come again....HUGE WIN.
We had a member lesson with the Wendels this week who are a super cute young couple with THE CHUNKIEST BABY. I seriously struggled at paying attention because this kid is just so darn cute. (picture feat below) after the lesson she asked us if we would come to her lesson for young womens on Sunday. We did and I just love those Young Women so much. They are such a light, we talked about Joseph Smith and I got to share my testimony of the Restoration which was just so great. I love Joseph Smith and am so grateful for his courage and patient perserverance in the great work he was asked to perform.
WE GOT THE BEST NEWS ON THURSDAY!!!! Since we are having such a focus on Family History right now our Mission President is letting each of us find and take a family name to the temple!!! We don't have a temple in our mission but we have 3 right outside of it so I am SO excited to get to go!! The normal rule is that you can go to the temple but only if you have a baptism and are going with your recent convert to do baptisms for the dead. So I havent been to the temple since my very first transfer!! SO I AM SO STOKED! I LOVE THE TEMPLE SO MUCH!
Elder Bednar once said: "The essence of the Lords work is changing, turning, and purifying hearts through sacred ordinances." Temple work is so so so IMPORTANT!! GO TO THE TEMPLE PEOPLE!! Not just for you but for those that are waiting for you to help them get one step closer to exaltation!!
I love this gospel, I love my life.
Mucho Love,
Sister Tams
Other/Funny Stuff:
-I got offered 2 jobs this week. One in a daycare and one for an old guy who needs a caretaker...pretty tempting stuff.
-There are these 2 workers at 7/11 who always hit on us, this week we got free hot chocolate because of it...so that's cool I guess, lol.
-BLESSED! We were able to find 2 new people this week both of which I am stoked about!
-Sister Moala was teaching me to Tongan dance in between doors during tracting this week but then we realized that like every door has cameras...awkward.
