Week 23 Satan H8s ur Face!

Image
FRIENDS AND FAMILY, BROTHERS AND SISTERS, CHILDREN OF GOD! This week we went on exchanges with the lovely Sister Conor and Sister Dribnak. I got to spend the day in Woodland and finally meet a guy they are teaching named Sean that I have been praying for like my whole mission. So that was cool, I like putting a name to a face. He told me I was invited to his baptism one day which I am stoked for. Sister Conor is super cool and I learned alot about her native country of Canadia. They don't say Ay, if you were wondering. It's a myth.  We were able to FINALLY get ahold of Jeremy this week which was awesome! He prayed about the Book of Mormon and knows it is true which is even more awesome!! However, in less awesome news, he moved to Sacramento...sooo....sadly we had to refer him to the missionaries there. Lucky ducks, he is the coolest.  A few weeks ago we got a referral for this guy named Memo. We have only had a few lessons with him because he is only available on S...

Week 22 Come Forth as Gold

FRIENDS AND FAMILY, BROTHERS AND SISTERS, CHILDREN OF GOD, I will not lie, it has probably been the hardest week of my mission. I won't go into every gory detail but here are some of the highlights of our rough week: 1. Our sweet friend Denise texted us yesterday and asked that we no longer contact her. She said she decided that it was all too much for her right now and asked us to respect her decision and not stop by or contact her anymore. It was utterly heartbreaking. Tears were shed. But nonetheless God is good.  2. Jeremy hasn't been responding to any of our texts and is completely avoiding us.  3. We met a 12 year old girl named Leasa who we got to teach and who loved everything that we taught her and even asked if she could come to church, we were so excited. We then called her on Saturday and she let us know that we can't come back (AKA her mom won't let us come back)  A few other things happened that were tough. But honestly I learned so muc...

Week 21 Pho'real...

Image
FRIENDS AND FAMILY, BROTHERS AND SISTERS, CHILDREN OF GOD, Pho is so good. F'real delicious. Highly recommend. Our good friend Denise had us over for dinner yesterday and made us some and it was quality. She also gave us the most GIANT bowls in the world. It was good tho...I had to stop myself from finishing the bowl before I got sick. Denise is doing well, we love her. Her prayers have continued and she even prayed about the Book of Mormon while we were there (kinda). She indirectly asked if it was true, so we are still working on direct questions, but she is lovely. She came to church yesterday and loved it as always.  Jeremy is doing real good! He came to a Family Home Evening at a members home on Tuesday and we watched the Restoration movie. He really liked it and had some amazing questions all about temples and prophets and ALL the good stuff! We had a bomb lesson with him on Friday and he promised us that he would pray about the Book of Mormon! I am so excited. Me and...

Week 20 Latter Day Savin!

FRIENDS AND FAMILY, BROTHERS AND SISTERS, CHILDREN OF GOD Your girl is STAYING here in West Wack! Miracle honestly. I am sticking with my previous statement, I think I am just staying here my whole mission. All of the Sisters in my zone stayed and all of the Elders but 2 left. So thats fun. Me and Sister Schmutz did a little dance for joy when we found out we get to stay together. I'm just so happy. God is  SO  good! Denise came to church yesterday and BORE HER TESTIMONY! It was beautiful and all about change. We went over to her house on Saturday and helped her get all organized and picked out outfits for her to wear to church. The ward is still just embracing her and once again we had to fight to even talk to her. She even sat by some ward members during Sunday school. We love her very much. God is  SO  good pt 2!! Jeremy also came to church on Sunday and LOVED it! He was able to meet a family in our ward that we have been trying to fellowship him with ...

Week 19 Save the Goodie Bag!

Image
FRIENDS AND FAMILY, BROTHERS AND SISTERS, CHILDREN OF GOD! Sorry to disappoint you all buttttt due to recent fires in the area our meeting with Elder Uchtdorf this weekend got cancelled. There was heartache felt for this news, but our hearts go out to those that are affected by these fires. Many prayers have been sent their way.  I am safe and sound, we had some extreme wind yesterday and we are expected to have more tomorrow. We have safety precautions in place and all is well here in West Wacky. There was a slight fire right by our apartment yesterday, but we good. We just heard a big bang and this guy yell "someone call the fire department" I looked out the window and sure enough a fire had started only like 15 feet away. So we decided to leave as quickly as possible and only had about 30 seconds so we grabbed the essentials (AKA scriptures and a goodie bag Sister Riplie made....) The fire was put out extremely quick and no one was harmed, it burned some weeds in a...

Week 18 Habla Espanol?

FRIENDS AND FAMILY, BROTHERS AND SISTERS, CHILDREN OF GOD, If you guys were wondering, I love my mission.  Denise is an angel sent straight from heaven. She is so spiritual and has such a desire to change so that she can come closer to Jesus Christ. We saw her 4 times this week. Some amazing members came with us and set up puppy gates for her in her apartment and sat in on the lessons. We all love her, she is a loveable gal. She came to church yesterday and loved every minute of it. She said she was just so grateful for the goodness that is found in the church, and the members just rallied around her. We had to wait for 20 minutes after church to be able to even talk to her because all of the members were just chatting with her. She even participated in Sunday school. Afterwards she got a priesthood blessing and she was crying the whole time. She is incredible and so prepared. I am almost brought to tears thinking about her being able to receive the gift of the Holy Ghost a...
