Week 19 Save the Goodie Bag!
FRIENDS AND FAMILY, BROTHERS AND SISTERS, CHILDREN OF GOD!
Sorry to disappoint you all buttttt due to recent fires in the area our meeting with Elder Uchtdorf this weekend got cancelled. There was heartache felt for this news, but our hearts go out to those that are affected by these fires. Many prayers have been sent their way.
I am safe and sound, we had some extreme wind yesterday and we are expected to have more tomorrow. We have safety precautions in place and all is well here in West Wacky. There was a slight fire right by our apartment yesterday, but we good. We just heard a big bang and this guy yell "someone call the fire department" I looked out the window and sure enough a fire had started only like 15 feet away. So we decided to leave as quickly as possible and only had about 30 seconds so we grabbed the essentials (AKA scriptures and a goodie bag Sister Riplie made....) The fire was put out extremely quick and no one was harmed, it burned some weeds in a nearby field but that was all. It was all very exciting, we just went and did our studies at the other sisters apartment.
Even though we didn't get to see Elder Uchtdorf God provided us with lots of miracles!! Our ward had a Trunk-or-Treat on Saturday that we got to attend and we had 4 nonmember families and 2 people we are teaching there! One of those people was Skylar! He came with his parents (they have been inactive for a loooongg time) and his older brother and they all loved it! It was so exciting and so much fun! Our favorite Sister Riplie made everyone cake pops and cookies and it was delicious.
We got to go and see Denise a few times this week and she is doing so well...We introduced her to the Word of Wisdom and she said she didn't want to talk about the coffee thing yet, but we will get her. She is starting to pray again for the first time in a very long time which is SO exciting! I love her. She missed church yesterday because she had an emergency with one of her dogs, which is a bummer...but what do ya do.
We also got to teach a lesson to a boy named Jeremy that we found a few weeks ago. He is still in high school so it has been very hard to find the time within his schedule but yesterday we just felt prompted to stop by and HE WAS FINALLY HOME! AND HE HAD READ A LITTLE BIT IN THE BOOK OF MORMON THAT SAME DAY! We get to see him again tomorrow and he is even going to come with us to a FHE at a members home! GOD IS SO GOOD!
Me and Sister Schmutz got to head up to Santa Rosa on Friday and attend MLC, which was SO good! Our mission president is incredible and I learn so much every time he opens his mouth.
WE FIND OUT WHO IS GETTING TRANSFERRED ON SATURDAY AND IM CONCERNED. Buttttt it will be fine because I have decided that I am just going to stay in West Wack my whole mission.
Mucho Love,
Sister Tams
Other/Funny Stuff:
-Me and Sister Schmutz thought it would be fun to dress up for Halloween so we went to the Trunk-or-Treat as each other, it was a big hit.
-We were at Walmart last P-day and we found the BEST shirts to describe West Sac, feat below.
-A tree blew down right in front of the other sisters apartment so that was fun.
-Me and Sister Schmutz went and did service at the nursing home and then we went to a different nursing home to visit a referral and we sang for them all...I think I might need to sing up for Americas got talent when I go home bc thats how good at singing I am getting...(lol, just joshing I just follow Sister Schmutzs lead the whole time)
-Me and Sister Dribnak switched dresses so we felt like we had something new for Elder Uchtdorf and I am very sad I dont get to keep the pretty pink dress pictured below and that I didnt get to wear it to mission conference.
-The air smells like bonfires and I know that isn't good but I won't lie, I love the smell.
