Week 62 My Mission is on fire; Literally!

FRIENDS AND FAMILY, BROTHERS AND SISTERS, CHILDREN OF GOD,

Well, my world is burning hahah, how is yours?

If you haven't already heard there are 500+ fires burning all over the state of California. My mission has been very fortunate and only 20 missionaries have had to evacuate their areas. However, there are 2 HUGE fires close by us, so PRAY for Cali...it needs it.

One of the smaller fires is in my area, so a lot of our ward members and some of the friends we were teaching got evacuated. It was a whirlwind of fire watch but luckily it hasn't gotten too close to us yet. We did have some cute Hermanas stay with us for a couple days because they were evacuated from their area, which was very fun. They are all hilarious.

Despite the craziness of the week we were VERY blessed to still teach a lot of lessons and even see some miracles. One of those is our new friend Laura. We posted on Facebook and offered any service during this time and she reached out to us and told us that she wanted to come closer to God and that she really liked our vibe. We set up another time to talk with her and we are VERY excited. God truly will either bring us to those that are ready orrrr bring them to us. He is just oh so good in that way.

We got back into contact with our friend Bob which was also a miracle!! He is SO cool, he read the chapter we left him with and then he read it again because he liked it that much. He has been through SO much but continues to press forward and have faith. It is a privilege to teach him.

TRANSFERS WERE THIS WEEK!! GOD ANSWERS PRAYERS MY FRIENDS. WE ARE ALL STAYING!!! Which is honestly pretty wild because Sister Bunker has ALREADY been here for 7 1/2 months so by the end of this transfer she will have been here for 9 months!!! INSANITY. Luckily I love her and am SO SO SO SO SO SO grateful that God has given us another transfer. Stoked for what's in store.

WEEK OF HAPPINESS WENT SOOOOO GOOD. THANK YOU ALL FOR ALL OF THE SUPPORT AND LOVE!! It was definitely a testimony builder for me. God absolutely answers prayers, we were worried that it was going to be a bust and that we were wasting Gods time but luckily I learned the reality of the scripture 2 Nephi 32:9 "...ye must not perform any thing unto the Lord save in the first place ye shall pray unto the Father in the name of Christ, that he will consecrate thy performance unto thee, that thy performance may be for the welfare of thy soul" God definitely guided our week and consecrated our performance. Happy week ended up being so much more than we imagined and a lot of people thanked us for putting it together. I am 10000% grateful for God and all He did in making it a reality, we could not have done it without Him.

Keep letting God guide you.

Mucho Love,
Sister Tams

Other/Funny Stuff:
-We spent hours at the mission office this week working on happy week stuff and we are pretty sure that our mission president thinks that me and my comps are hermanas....hahha, he keeps speaking Spanish to us and we just smile and laugh.
-We came up with an equation to fix the fires H²0+G⁰D=n⁰ m⁰ fire. We think it is scientific.
-Sad news: Kristiannas parents won't let her meet with us anymore, makes us wanna cry....but keep her in your prayers.
-We taught a couple lessons this week with face masks on and ash falling from the sky, pretty surreal.
-A lot of our zone stayed the same which is wild bc we have all been here forever, but I love them all #grateful
