Week 61 Week of Happiness

FRIENDS AND FAMILY, BROTHERS AND SISTERS, CHILDREN OF GOD,

I love my mission, it is the best thing in the world.

We did a lot of fun stuff this week!! From having a tonnn of lessons to Week of Happiness planning to the power being shut off, you name it we probably had it. It was fun. I looooveeee being busy. We started teaching a new guy named Jairo, he is SUPER cool. He is going through A LOT right now and has loved reading in the scriptures with us!! We even dropped him off his own copy of the Book of Mormon and he is SO stoked to begin reading!!

We had a couple lessons this week with a guy we are teaching named Joshua! He moved here in the worst timing ever SO besides work he has no way to make friends. He loves that we come over and share some positivity with him. He is super cool and described himself as a sponge, he is just soaking it all in. He has even made us some bomb meals including shishkubobs (don't know how to spell that lol) and biscuits and gravyyyy....what a good man.

Kristianna and Michael are both doing really well!! We read from the Book of Mormon with Kristianna and she said that she feels like her understanding is just being expanded, I still love her SO much. She is incredible. Michael hasn't been feeling very good so pls keep her in your prayers.

The mission has been talking a lot about prayers lately, which I LOVE. How cool is it that we get to talk to the creator of ALL things whenever we want to?? In a well known song it says: "...He lives to hear my soul’s complaint. He lives to silence all my fears. He lives to wipe away my tears. He lives to calm my troubled heart...He lives, my kind, wise heav’nly Friend. He lives and loves me to the end." It is amazing to know that there is ALWAYS someone there that I can just pour my heart out to, I would invite you to do so this week. Have a REALLY sincere honest prayer and POUR OUT your soul to Him. I promise He will listen and He will help you through it all. (Good tip: saying it out loud always helps me lots and lots)

Mucho Love,
Sister Tams

Other/Funny Stuff:
-We dyed Sister Soultz hair...it was very exciting stuff. VERY stressful bc it looked VERY orange at first, but no worries all is well and she likes it.
-We have been scaring each other at night a lot and a couple nights ago Sister Soultz scared me so bad that I kicked her...into the closet...ooops...I get violent when I am scared I guess.
-We are getting closer to Fire season so the electric company here is VERY careful. So for like 5 hours on Friday our power was shut off.
-The weather reminded me a little of Utah this week, very bipolar. It was 90+ degrees most of the time but then every once in a while it rained with some thunder. We even got some lightening. It was wild.
-I LOVE writing letters and so does Sis Bunker so on the same day we both got like 5 letters...it was fun. Very enjoyable.
-Keep my good friend Sister Moala in your prayers, she is unable to go home because the Tongan borders are closed so she has to stay on her mission until they open back up again. I love that Tongan Lady, and as much as I want to have her close by forever her family is missin her back home.
-Joshua decided to nickname us his ladies of the lord, so that is pretty fun.
-DON'T FORGET!! Today is the FIRST day of Week of Happiness, make sure to serve someone today and share it with the hashtag #weekofhappiness
