Week 51 Hey kids!
FRIENDS AND FAMILY, BROTHERS AND SISTERS, CHILDREN OF GOD,
BIG NEWS: Your favorite duo became a trio this week. We got a call last week that we got the privilege of picking up a cute new reassigned missionary. We were so stoked and it was SO fun getting to go to Santa Rosa and see some of my friends after sooooo long. The best part was getting to come back with Sister Ilagan. (I-login) She is from Maryland and served for 2 months in Brazil until she was sent home due to Corona. She is adorable and I love her forever.
SAD NEWS: With so many new missionaries coming in we sadly had to give up Vallejo 2nd to the Elders. One of which was one of our Zone Leaders. The last few days we have had lots of pass off lessons and said see you later to a lot of our good friends in Vallejo 2nd.
With giving up that area came giving up Justin and James. Justin has been doing so well and we are going to continue to team teach him until Tuesday. He makes my heart so happy and I have enjoyed hearing him change. It is crazy how close you can feel to a person even though you have never ever seen them in person. James has been doing so good, sadly his dad took a turn for the worst and James had to go to Ohio to spend time in the hospital with him. He will be gone for the next month and the Elders are going to baptize him when he gets back.
CRAZY NEWS: Even though we just got a new companion we still have transfers on Thursday. We have zero idea what will happen, all we know is that lots of people are being shuffled around and President told Sister Ilagan and all of her friends to not get comfortable.
With all the crazy news and all of the unknowns I was seeking some comfort in one of my personal studies this week and I was directed to Alma 26:22
"Yea, he that repenteth and exerciseth faith, and bringeth forth good works, and prayeth continually without ceasing—unto such it is given to know the mysteries of God; yea, unto such it shall be given to reveal things which never have been revealed; yea, and it shall be given unto such to bring thousands of souls to repentance, even as it has been given unto us to bring these our brethren to repentance"
I have no idea what is going to happen to me tomorrow, or the next day, or the next day, but I know that God knows and that He is in control. In this same chapter it says "have we not great reason to rejoice?" I may not have gotten to be here to watch James baptism, or to see Justin in person, but I did get to be here to meet them. How lucky am I to have something so good to say see you later too. God is good, all the time.
Remember who is in charge y'all.
Mucho love,
Sister Tams
Other/Funny Stuff:
-We told Sister Ilagan the riddle from a few weeks ago and we almost made an enemy. She was sooooo mad.
-Sister Ilagan has this dream where she goes up to some kids and starts to spin a ball on her finger and they think she is so cool that they all get baptized. So she has been practicing hard this week and she always starts by saying "hey kids"
-I got to see Hermana Rasmussen in Rosa and I love her with my whole heart, she goes home in 6 weeks and it makes my heart sad sauce.
-The Elders keep rubbing it in our faces that they get to teach all our people and we are mad.
-MIRACLE: WE GOT BACK INTO CONTACT WITH GINGER AND ARE GOING TO SEE HER ON WEDNESDAY.
-We went and visited our friend Bro Kennon this week, he told us about UFOs and Pyramids...it was a good time.
-I got a new address but I am not going to tell you what it is until next week bc who knows if I will be here next week or not, lol.
-Our good friend in Vallejo named Neeko told us "I know y'all are religious and everything but we should party" he also offered us free avacados. My man.
