Week 50 The Lord is an Optimist...
FRIENDS AND FAMILY, BROTHERS AND SISTERS, CHILDREN OF GOD,
Unsure exactly what happened this week honestly, time is so weird right now. It's really confusing.
A lot of our appointments fell through which was sad, but God is still good so that is less sad.
We met with our good friend James and while he will not be baptized on the 7th he is still working towards baptism and we are really excited for him!! He hasn't felt that he has gotten an answer yet for a yes or no so we are excited to continue to teach him more about the gospel and to see him grow! We will be having a church tour with him this coming week that we are really excited about. He is still the coolest of the cool and I have loved every minute of working with him.
Justin is still my favorite. He has had such a tough life and I just grow in my appreciation for him and his desire to follow God. We learned a little more about him this week and why he is so apprehensive of meeting in public. He has such a good heart and really just wants to come closer to God, which is awesome. He also is going to be reading in the Book of Mormon every day this week and when he prayed out of our meeting he thanked God for Joseph Smith, which was real cool. Love him.
We got to meet together as a district for the first time in FOREVER this week which was SUPER good! The silly Elders even asked me to teach a little bit and it made my heart happy. I love teaching people, even if I don't know what I am saying half the time. Hopefully it helped, I also got to do a practice with the cutest Hermana who is going home today and she just made my heart happy. I didn't get the chance to get to know her super good with all this stuff going on but we decided that we are best friends. So that's fun.
We ALSO got to have an AMAZING zoom call with Elder Klebingat of the Area Presidency. HE BLEW MY MIND. I AM STILL TRYING TO COMPREHEND ALL THE DOCTRINE HE THREW AT US. But the main thing I learned is that God knew us before this life and He knows us now. He cares about us and all the little things that we are doing. He wants us to become the person He KNOWS we can be. I just love that. How inspiring is it to know that Heavenly Father is rooting for YOU? BEST. CHEERLEADER. EVER.
Something one of our Bishops said during virtual church yesterday also touched my heart. He said "The Lord is optimistic." Y'all, I don't know if you noticed but the world is a little crazy right now. Which is no fun, but what is fun is remembering that Gods plan is never everlasting destruction...rather everlasting peace. My good friend Al Fox Carraway once said "We find what we look for. Look for the good. Look for God."
Mucho love my peeps,
Sister Tams
Other/Funny Stuff:
-Sister Derbidge keeps scaring me real bad. This week she snuck up behind me and in response I clapped my hands together and fell to the ground...we cried we were laughing so hard. I'm silly.
-Speaking of me being silly...yesterday my mind was so gone that I was convinced that dinner ended at 5pm and had us leave our apartment 30 minutes early to get to the church. Only to find out half way there that we only got a 15 minute dinner and my mind is mush.
-My trainer is going home today...love herrrrrr
-I took no pics this week...so sorry
