Week 45 The Big Zero!

FRIENDS AND FAMILY, BROTHERS AND SISTERS, CHILDREN OF GOD,

Do I sound older to you? Look a little aged? No longer a teen? Maybe just a little spoiled? If you answered yes, I am ALL of those things. I turned 20 on Saturday and it was definitely unforgettable! I was spoiled by all of our amazing members and by my sweet family. I feel like the members can sense when our dessert supply is getting low because every time they text and it gets restocked, just like that. For my birthday we had 2 families bring cookies, 1 bring cake, 1 bring candy, 1 send cupcakes, and 1 bring muffins. Plus I baked myself my favorite cake before any of that. We had to sacrifice some to the elders because there was just NO way we were ever gonna be able to finish all that. Plus I got sung to quite a few different times and once in Chinese which was very cool. THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH FOR THE BIRTHDAY WISHES. I HAVE GOTTA BE THE LUCKIEST SISTER IN THE WHOLE WIDE WORLD. 

Me and Sister Derbidge have a theory that God is preparing us for celestial time bc we feel like days are sooooooo long but weeks are super fast. Its odd, every day seems like a new year. 

We got to meet our good friend Paea this week!! WE LOVE HER. SHE IS SO PREPARED!! Her daughter is a recent convert in Vallejo and her grandson will be baptized with her this SATURDAY! She has a real cool story, she wasn't really into our church until she was real sick and let the Elders give her a priesthood blessing. Because of the power in that blessing she said she is feeling better and better and she knows that it's all true. I love her so very much and am SO stoked for Saturday. It has been SO good to get Vallejo 2nd and it has been a crazy week of calling members and formers and getting to know people over the phone. We feel very blessed to have been trusted with this area and it has been SO great to work with such amazing people. 

I have a little poem that I love and it says: 
"If you'll only go after the thing that you want,
With all your capacity,
Strength and sagacity, 
Faith, hope, and confidence; stern pertinacity, 
If neither poverty, nor pain, or famished and gaunt, 
Nor sickness or pain, 
to body or brain,

The fight isn't over yet my friends. Keep your eye on the prize and remember the advice President Hinkley got from his father, "Gordon, Forget yourself and go to work."

Other/Funny Stuff:
-We have been calling LOTS of people and Sister Derbidge left a very awkward voicemail the other day while I was in the background laughing my head off...hahhahah, good thing they let you redo them. 
-We were told yesterday that we could be getting as many as 170 reassigned missionaries in the month of May. ONE HUNDRED AND SEVENTY!!!!
-Our cute WMLs daughter Nora was baptized on my birthday and she was SO happy it got to be on my birthday she kept reminding her mom and I was so happy that we got to do a little zoom call in for it.  I LOVE KIDS. 
-I LOVE KIDS PT 2. The cutest little 9 yr old named David had a birthday this week too and we were going to do a special dinner celebration but we didn't get to with Corona, his mom texted and said he cried because he didn't get to celebrate with me. They are probs moving to Utah pretty soon so I promised we could celebrate it a different year. So tender, I love him. 
-The Elders gave us a riddle this week that is giving me a mad headache...we got 2 new zone leaders who are very entertaining so that has been a ride. They called and sang me the most off key happy birthday I have heard in a looongggg time. 
-I am blessed and grateful. You all rock. Love ya.

Week 68 Baptism, Conference and Transfers

  FRIENDS AND FAMILY, BROTHERS AND SISTERS, CHILDREN OF GOD, EVERYTHING happened this week. ALL of it. Here is a highlight reel: -BOB GOT BAPTIZED YESTERDAY!!!! It was an amazing poolside service and lots of great people came to support him. He was glowing and said he felt goosebumps the whole time. I love him so so much and am so so so happy that I got to be apart of it all.  -SISTER BUNKER IS LEAVING. Transfers are today and we found out we will be losing her to Novato. She is a rockstar and will be an STL her ENTIRE MISSION!!! I still cannot believe our dreams came true and that we got to be companions, I read a note that I wrote to her right after the MTC and I addressed it to my future companion. God is good and knew that I needed a comp like her, forever grateful.  -We are getting a cutie named Sis Hancock, she came in with Sister Soultz so I will be ending my last transfer with 2 newish missionaries!!! It should be lots of fun.  -LAST BUT CERTAINTLY NOT LEAST ...

Friends and family, brothers and sisters, children of God,  We are on fire again, literally and figuratively! Last night we got a call that the Hermanas would be coming to stay the night because they were evacuated!! It has been a fun little slumber party and honestly none of us know how long it will last. The ash is worse than it ever has been before, the floor is coated with it. It is the end of the world, but that's okay because the work moves forward!! My zone has been continuing to kill it and we OFFICIALLY hit our high water mark, with 3 baptisms to go!! These Elders and Sisters are incredible and they have been working SO hard! I am SO glad I got to be apart of it all.  Bob is doing really really good and is making his way back to California! Which is THE BEST because his baptism will be on Sunday!!! We are ALL so excited!! SO PLS PRAY THAT THE FIRES DON'T CHANGE ANYTHING.  I have been teaching Sis Soultz the story of the Book of Mormon, because as a recent convert...
