Week 33 Superbowl Win!!
FRIENDS AND FAMILY, BROTHERS AND SISTERS, CHILDREN OF GOD,
SUNDAY WAS SUCH A GOOD DAY!! I still have NO idea who won the Superbowl but honestly I feel like me and Sister Moala did. We had 4 OF THE PEOPLE WE ARE TEACHING AT CHURCH!! MIRACLE!! As each of them walked in me and Sister Moala had to stop ourselves from doing a little happy dance. It was SO good!
We had a bomb zone council about weekly planning and me and Sister Moala took it to heart. We have slowly been getting better and better at planning but this week we took it to a new level. We planned out every little detail of those we had invited to church. We texted members and had at least 2 members for each person to greet those we invited at the door or to introduce themselves. MAN DID IT PAY OFF. We honestly probably said 3 things to each of them. The members took them under there wing like crazy and each of them had someone to sit next to. I CANNOT SAY IT ENOUGH THESE MEMBERS ARE AMAZING AND I LOVE THEM. IT WAS THE ABSOLUTE BEST.
Of the 4 at church was Ginger!!!!!!!! She walked up to us and said "did I surprise you?" SHE DID. I WAS SO SURPRISED AND SO GRATEFUL. I love her so so much and was so glad that she was able to make it to church. We had a bomb lesson with her this week where we were able to introduce her to the Relief Society president and get her introduced to come follow me. She is excited about it because she has had a hard time comprehending all the different stories in the Book of Mormon. BUT she comitted to reading EVERY DAY this week!!
We were also able to get back into contact with Mark this week! He was doing some remodeling on his home and things got messed up for a second...but ALL is well and we were able to meet with him!! Even though we haven't seen him in a month he has still been reading in the Book of Mormon and praying to know if it is true. He said that he is trying to be patient with his answer because he feels like he has Holy Ghost Earwax. Haha, we talked more about the Holy Ghost and promised him that he would receive an answer. He is awesome and I have loved working with him. We also had a member there who lives just down his street and who was amazing at inviting him to sit by him at church and helping him feel welcome.
Tom ALSO came to church! I love Tom. His wife Sovanny gets back into town this week and we are so excited to start teaching them as a family. He has really been progressing and has been reading every day. We had a lesson with him this week centered on prayer and he said that he would keep working on his prayers. He is awesome and has repeatedly told us that he hopes he will be able to gain the faith that we have. He said that he notices the difference/the happiness that we radiate and he wants that for himself. HE IS AWESOME. GOD IS SO GOOD.
We are seriously just SO blessed. God is so good. There is a scripture found in Mosiah 4:10-11 that is my new motto for the rest of my mission. It reads:
"...if you believe all these things see that ye do them.
And again I say unto you as I have said before, that as ye have come to the knowledge of the glory of God, or if ye have known of his goodness and have tasted of his love, and have received a remission of your sins, which causeth such exceedingly great joy in your souls, even so I would that ye should remember, and always retain in remembrance, the greatness of God, and your own nothingness, and his goodness and long-suffering towards you, unworthy creatures, and humble yourselves even in the depths of humility, calling on the name of the Lord daily, and standing steadfastly in the faith of that which is to come, which was spoken by the mouth of the angel."
MIRACLES are happening and it has nothing to do with me or anything I am doing. I boast not of my self, but only of my God. He is so so so so so so so good. I have learned so much and I continue to learn so much. There are weeks like this one that are just great and then there are weeks that are so hard but I know that as we humble ourselves good things will come. God is good, I love Him a lot.
I also received THE BEST news this week!! My sweet friend Denise in West Wacky has committed to be baptized on February 22nd. I almost cried when I heard. She is incredible and I am so proud of the decision that she is making.
Mucho Love,
Sister Tams
