Week 25 Happy birthdayyyyy!!!
FRIENDS AND FAMILY, BROTHERS AND SISTERS, CHILDREN OF GOD,
The weeks are really blurring together now...its unbelievable. I cannot believe that I hit my 6 months this week!!! THATS INSANE. Good thing I still have 18 months left.
We had our last exchange of the transfer this week with the Hermanas from Dixon. I had the great privilege of going to Dixon and working with Hermana Ferral. She only has 1 transfer left of her mission and she is a pro. She even taught me some espanol. I did some language study with her and I prayed in spanish, then she let me read some of the Book of Mormon in spanish. Which was pretty cool. I learned a whole lot, I might even come home fluent...
While on exchanges Sister Schmutz and Hermana Gonzales tracted into a family who invited us back the very next day! They are a couple from Fiji named Shan and Rosy and they have an 11 year old daughter named Prisha. We went back on Wednesday night and it turned out to be Rosys birthday! Her sister and her sisters family were all there and they insisted that we come right in. We ate some indian food with them and then they made sure we stayed for cake. We even got to share a spiritual message which was really cool, especially because 3 of them don't have a Christian background. They are so sweet and have been going through a lot lately.
We also had an awesome lesson with a guy named John!! We found him a few weeks ago and have been trying to catch him ever since. We finally did and he told us that he had read the pamphlet and had questions. We came back a few days later and talked all about Joseph Smith. We had a SUPER spiritual lesson and in the end he even asked us for a copy of the Book of Mormon. We invited him to church on Sunday and he unfortunately wasn't able to make it but he assured us that he definitely wanted to! We get to see him again tonight and I'm stoked!
We got to sing at church on Sunday which was very out of my comfort zone...but ya know God blessed us because although it didnt sound all that great to me lots of people thanked us for the performance at the end. Brother Wright even came to church and LOVED it!!! Which makes me so so happy.
We had interviews with our mission president on Tuesday and he expressed that he thinks he is going to try to make minimal changes this transfer due to Christmas. So who knows I might just stay in West Sac my whole mission. We will find out for sure on Saturday.
Hermana Ferral showed me a scripture in Jacob 3:1-2 that I just love: "But behold, I, Jacob, would speak unto you that are pure in heart. Look unto God with firmness of mind, and pray unto him with exceeding faith, and he will console you in your afflictions, and he will plead your cause, and send down justice upon those who seek your destruction. O all ye that are pure in heart, lift up your heads and receive the pleasing word of God, and feast upon his love; for ye may, if your minds are firm, forever."
I hope all of you feast upon His love this week.
Mucho Love,
Sister Tams
Other/Funny stuff:
-We had the MOST vibrant double rainbow I have ever seen in my life on Saturday and I was in heaven.
-We ate dinner with the Lyon family and they have the cutest 4 year old named Abigail. We told her how much her Father on earth and her Father in Heaven loves her and she says "yeah everyone loves me so much." She is the sweetest thing in the world. They also fed us Cafe Rio which was SUCH a blessing.
-We had a member lesson with Brother Talamantese and he kills me. His mom Maria only knows about 3 stories in English and she tells us all three of them everytime we go over. They are so funny, he even gifted us 4 used pens. It was very sweet.
-Some guy bumped into the back of our van, definitely kinda high...but no biggie we gave him a Book of Mormon and are gonna go back and hopefully teach him. Haha.
-We got our Christmas all set up and I'M THRIVING.
