Week 17 It's Electric Boogie Woogie Woogie
FRIENDS AND FAMILY, BROTHERS AND SISTERS, CHILDREN OF GOD,
It was such a good week. SO SO SO GOOD. GOD IS SO GOOD. We have been struggling with finding new people that are willing to progress recently but this week we found 5 new people! 1 of which came to church and another 1 of which told us that he wants to be baptized! I honestly was gonna cry I was so happy.
The sweetest 83 year old lady in the world named Barbara came to church. I love her. Barbara lives in a trailer with a less active member named Jennifer (same trailer that we found Juanita) we went over there this week and invited them all to come to church! Jennifer has some health problems so she wasn't feeling well enough to come but Barbara did! The most AMAZING member, Sister Riplie, brought a wheelchair for her to sit in and she loved everything that she could hear during church. I adore her a lot.
Speaking of people that I adore a lot, we FINALLY got back into contact with Denise this week! She called us and told us that she is really just wanting to change her life and that we gave her the hope that maybe it was possible. She said she loves our church and really wants to dedicate her Sundays to God but she needs our help to do it. We get to see her again tonight and I am very excited. I love her a lot.
Angelo was awol most of the week but he finally texted us back yesterday and told us that he moved to Woodland.....so uh. There's that. We are gonna send the missionaries in Woodland to him but I don't really know what's gonna go down with that honestly. I sincerely hope and pray that when the time is right he will accept the gospel into his life.
I LOVE ZONE CONFERENCE!!!!!!!! WE HAD ONE ON THURSDAY AND IT MADE MY HEART SO HAPPY. OUR PRESIDENT AND ASSISTANTS ARE SO GOOD!! In my nightly prayers the day before I was just expressing my frustration and asking God that he will help us figure out a way to help people make and keep commitments so that they can progress. Lo and behold we get to zone conference and it is all about how we extend commitments!! It was honestly an answer to my prayers. We applied what we learned and had such a good rest of our week with people knowing the doctrine behind why we ask them to do things and actually doing them! GOD IS SO GOOD.
My mother is the most amazing woman in the world. We went on exchanges this week and Sister Needham joined me in West Wacky. During our exchange we got a text from the Mission Presidents wife that basically told us to go get gas, charge our phones, and to emergency prepare because they were shutting the power off at midnight. So in the middle of finding time me and Sister Needham rushed home and got everything ready only to find out the next morning that our area wasn't effected. My sweet mom, however, heard about this and that it might last for 5 days and she sent me a whole lot of food and a solar charger to make sure that I survived the power outage. Can't complain because she basically did my grocery shopping for me this week but I am sad to disappoint. No power outage, we had electricity the whole time. Boogie woogie woogie.
I love my life.
Mucho love,
Sister Tams
Other/Funny stuff:
-I was praying after a member dinner and I accidentally told God I was thankful that the Riplies cooked us...whoops.
-We had a bomb lesson with a new guy named Aron and he told us he wants to be baptized (we still have a bit to go BUT I am stoked about it.)
-We got to see Juanita again and she is doing swell. I love her a lot.
-I LOVE SISTER NEEDHAM.
-I LOVE SISTER SCHMUTZ.
-We went and saw a less active member named Rhoda and I adore her. She is in her 90s and she just loves the Book of Mormon.
-I love to serve people, we went and helped clean a part member families kitchen and they were so grateful! They even told us that they would be coming to church next Sunday, so I am stoked about that.
-4 MONTHS DOWN! 18 MORE TO GO!
