Week 12
FRIENDS AND FAMILY, BROTHERS AND SISTERS, CHILDREN OF GOD!
I could cry God is just that good. I will not lie to you all, It was a hard week. For some random reason all of our people just fell off of the face of the earth. 2 of them straight up moved away just spur of the moment. Including Jose #2, sadly he decided to go back to Texas. RIP. He will be missed. Not only that but we also met a basher guy that was pretty much wreck-it-ralph. Just following us trying to convince all those we talked to that "Mormonism wasn't true." So that was fun.
Jose #1 has been awol since last week. Sadly him and our recent convert Chris are the two main people that basher guy has gotten ahold of. BUT SO MANY MIRACLES! Our boy Terrance (came to church for like 10 mins like 3 weeks ago and was in tears) came to church again yesterday!! ALL OF CHURCH! Which was really an answer to prayers because right after our lesson with him on Saturday we saw basher guy walk up to him and point to us as we were driving away. So to say the least we prayed like crazy that he wouldn't wreck everything we built with Terrance too. God is good, oh so good. Terrance came, loved it and called us twice yesterday telling us how thankful he was for us and that he is excited to see us again this week and come to church again next. I love him. I love all the those we teach.
You wanna hear the miracle beyond miracles? So, we have been working our butts off finding this week. When all your people disappear you gotta find new ones, ya know. So we had the goal to find 5 new people to teach this week. As the days went on as hard as we worked and as much time as we dedicated we just were not finding anyone. So yesterday we decided to fast for people to find. My heart is full as I tell you that we went finding for 6 hours yesterday and found 5 people. 5 solid people. It was 100% a miracle, 5 is more people than we have found in the last 2 weeks. One of them was a previous taught named James and he has been taught off and on by the missionaries for over 8 years. We went and contacted him and he told us that he wanted to get baptized last time but had to figure out some things so that he was worthy and could pass the interview questions. He then looked at us and asked if we could bring the questions again because he thinks he can finally pass. MIRACLE. I COULD CRY. GOD IS SO GOOD.
I went to my first MLC (missionary Leadership Conference) as an STL this week. So I got to see my favorite...Sister Bunker, and hear all of the best things from our mission president and APs. You guys, the little stuff is SO SO important. That was probably the biggest thing that I learned. Doing the small stuff in missionary work is how we are able to receive the blessings of the big stuff. Our companionship has been trying to be better at asking for referrals and being more diligent about time this week. Those are both so small but SO important. I know that the miracles that occurred this week are because we made those small sacrifices and God saw how hard we have been working. I love Him, so much.
Overall it was honestly a great week, it was a hard one but such a good one.
Mucho love,
Sister Tams
Other/Funny Stuff:
-The contract still stands, it was hard but I withstood and stayed away from sugar!!!
-I am just really really grateful for my companions, I honestly have the best trainer
-Our recent convert Etta (who won the lottery) keeps trying to give us money
-Sister Schmutz said that I reminded her of Darla from little rascals and I think that's my favorite compliment I have ever gotten.
