Week 7 A Bomb Quesadilla!
FRIENDS AND FAMILY, BROTHERS AND SISTERS, CHILDREN OF GOD,
Hello, my week was crazy. Crazy busy, crazy fun, crazy people, just a whole lot of crazy! My companions are STLs so I went on 2 exhanges this week, plus we had zone Pday, district council, and MLC!! CRAZY BUSY! But CRAZY good! We had an awesome district council on Tuesday and we talked a lot about finding and how to find by the spirit. It is really such a cool thing to think about that the Lord is guiding my steps. If we are in tune with the spirit I can be an instrument in His hands in helping His children in anyway that he sees fit, which is pretty incredible.
After District council we had the AMAZING pleasure of bringing Sister Needham back to West Wacky with me and Sister Colipapa! What a blessing that was! I adore Sister Needham, she is SO in tune with the spirit and taught me a lot about just going with whatever thoughts we get rather than questioning if it was from us or from God. She is incredible, we ended that exchange at In-N-Out the next day which was delicious and very exciting since West Wack only has a KFC and a McDonald's.
The next day was MLC! (Missionary Leadership Conference) so my companions went to Santa Rosa and dropped me off to work with Sister Bunker in Vacouville! I LOVE SISTER BUNKER WITH MY WHOLE HEART! THERE ARE SO MANY AMAZING SISTERS IN MY MISSION! Me and Sister Bunker are both in training (Sister Bunker was one of my roommates at the MTC) so we were instructed to go finding all day, and I mean ALL day! Their car was in the shop too so we were walking missionaries for the day and we walked for 6 hours total! It was crazy, but what was crazier was that it went by super fast! I guess that's what happens when you have someone as awesome as Sister Bunker to walk around with. We also made an absolutely bomb chicken quesadilla that I am convinced I will never forget. I have much love for her and for Sister Needham.
As far as lessons go this week was very whack...very whack. I don't know if I mentioned this or not but last Saturday we got a call from this guy named Ty who we were handing out invitations for a BBQ to, he called us and told us that he was sad that he couldn't make it to the BBQ but that he was really struggling in his life right now and would love to meet with us. We of course accepted but were so busy that we couldn't fit him in until Tuesday night, we were sad about that but the work must go on so we went about our normal day on Monday. UNTIL we had just had an appointment fall through when we looked over and guess who we see in his car? TY!! Talk about God leading people, we were able to talk to him about his situation and about how God knows us perfectly and wants to bless our lives!! we set up another appointment with him and we got to give him a church tour and talk more about this gospel. He is so so HUMBLE and we are so excited to get to know him more.
Friday was THE whackiest of the days. We had to just laugh about it honestly because that's how whacky it was. We had a pretty normal day of weekly planning and studies and we went out to go to our lessons...well we have been having some trouble with our investigator Leonard and had to council with President on what he would have us do, we ended up going to teach Leonard that night but sadly he was not in the right mindset and couldn't retain the information we were teaching him. We ended up having to stop teaching him regularly but I am confident that God has a perfect plan for him! After that appointment we headed over to our next appointment with Jose, we get to his house and his mom answers the door who speaks very little English and told us that Jose had a heart attack! (Same Jose who got shot like a month ago) we asked if we could send the Hermana's to pray for them and she agreed, and now the Hermana's are teaching their whole family which is SO great and SO whacky! Then as we were leaving we ran into our other investigator Bill and his family and turns out Bill is having major medical problems and their family really needs help right now. We invited them to church and THEY CAME!! I ALMOST DANCED FOR JOY as they walked into that door!! I was so happy, we got to get him a priesthood blessing and we are seeing their family tonight which is SO SO exciting!! So yeah, Friday was a whacky day full of surprises.
Anyways, Stay cool out there its super hot so drink alotta water.
Mucho Love,
Sister Tams
Funny/Other Stuff:
