Week 3 My life full of Apostles, Amazing People and Chickfila

FRIENDS AND FAMILY, BROTHERS AND SISTERS, CHILDREN OF GOD!!

WE ARE DOWN TO MY LAST COUPLE OF DAYS AT THE MTC!! I LEAVE ON TUESDAY!! CRAZY!! You want to know something even more crazy though...I saw the back of 3 apostles heads close up (Elder Gong, President Ballard, and Elder Soares) andddd drum roll pleaaassseeeee.......ELDER STEVENSON WAVED TO ME AND MY COMPANION!! I ABOUT DIED AND WENT STRAIGHT TO HEAVEN. It was SO SO COOL! Having the big 15 just hanging out this week was amazing! Them and all the mission presidents were here until Wednesday which was very cool, we also got to meet Elder Craig C. Christensen of the quorum of the 70!! That was also cool he chatted with us for awhile about our missions then he looked at us with such confidence and just said "Its true, It is all true" of course I already knew that but getting it from one of the 70 was THE COOLEST!

Even cooler than seeing a bunch of them up close was our devotional on Sunday. We were getting ready for the devotional (which we knew was gonna be one of the apostles and that some of them were going to be there) with some prelude hymns we all stood and started singing "Hark all Ye Nations" about half way through they all started to walk in, ALL 12 apostles, President Oaks, and their wives. I am not joking when I say I was so overwhelmed with the spirit that I started to cry. I have never felt the spirit as quickly as I did singing as those men walked in, all of those men are truly called of God, you can just feel the love and spirit that they have. Elder Holland then spoke to us about our missionary purpose and why they chose it.  It was SO SO SO GOOD!! BEING A MISSIONARY IS THE BIGGEST BLESSING IN MY WHOLE WORLD!! Me and my whole district decided to do the MTC choir (don't worry I didn't sing a solo or anything, no need to scare them all away) it was the coolest thing to sing "Sweet Hour of Prayer" to all of them, when we finished Elder Holland started by bearing his testimony about how every hour is a sweet hour of prayer, it was incredible, definitely a memory I will never forget.

This week was our last TRCs...so SO sad. We love our TRCs SO SO MUCH!! This week we had our last 2 lessons with Sarah and one lesson with Karisa. Karisa is SO AMAZING! She was also extremely intimidating, when me and my companion walked in she pulled out her notebook and asked us a lot of hard questions, we tried our best to teach her all that we could by the spirit but man was she ready to learn, we learned a lot about sticking to a lesson plan and not letting ourselves get too frazzled. She was truly Heaven sent though and we loved having the opportunity to teach her. I HAVE SAID IT ONCE AND I WILL SAY IT OVER AND OVER AGAIN WE LOVE SARAH!! This week we had 2 lesson with her both of which were so incredible. She always has such good questions and always allows the spirit to teach her much much more than me and Sister Hurst ever could. One of the coolest things in teaching her this week was talking to her about recognizing Gods love, you could visibly see the switch click in her head as she noticed even just a sliver of Gods love in her life, She is amazing, we taught her a little bit about the Book Of Mormon and its promised blessings. It was good, it was oh so good, we were all so sad to know that it was our last lesson but we exchanged emails and she is even on my group email right now, SO SHOUT OUT TO SARAH YOU ARE THE BEST!

As my district gets closer and closer to leaving the MTC we are getting closer and closer to each other...Some of the funniest things happened this week. Including but not limited to: Sister Huntzingers impeccable Doofenshmirtz (Phineas and Ferb if ya didn't know) impression, water shot out of Sister Huntzingers nose when after Brother Marcucci told us a funny story, Sister Hurst forgot that she was supposed to be wearing a skirt (we have to wear skirts not pants when we have meetings with our Branch President) so we had to go back to our room to change her pants and were already pretty late, we started to speed walk to class and got about halfway there when we realized she forgot her tag, it was so so funny, we were only like 15 minutes late...whoops, we got to grill Sister Miles and Brother Marcucci about their personal lives...we love living vicariously through those that live outside the fish bowl, oh yeah I almost forgot we call the MTC the fish bowl because we live in Provo but it is a whole other world in here, also you can call me a baller (well Sister Baller I guess) because Sister Jackson taught me how to basketball, I even got into like the top 5 when we played lightning...which is hard to do...she is a very good coach, I will attach a picture of the basketball crew below, there is honestly more funny stuff too....it was just a funny week!!

Other funny/regular stuff:
-Me and Sister Jackson both got Krispy kreme donuts at the same time (our moms must think alike, first Crumbl now Krispy Kreme)
-The MTC have really stepped up their food game since the apostles have come, we got ChickFila and Taco Bell this week, CHURCH IS TRUE.
-All of my district says that I dad sneeze, so that is fun...the Sisters in the room next to us say they can hear it when both doors are closed...whoops
-I got a bloody nose in the middle of class this week and the look of alarm on Brother Marcuccis face was so SO funny.
-Sad moment, Sister Barr has been waiting for her Visa and we found out this week that they are reassigning her to Toronto, Canada until it comes, she leaves on Monday morning, SO SAD, but God has a plan for her and we have decided that Toronto just must be in that plan.
-We were practicing teaching and I was with Elder Edwards and he called me Grace, IT WAS SO WEIRD, lol I don't identify with my first name anymore.

Mucho love,
Sister Tams
