Week 30 What a friend we have in Jesus

Image
FRIENDS AND FAMILY, BROTHERS AND SISTERS, CHILDREN OF GOD, Hey, how are ya? hows it going?  I'm good. Doing swell. Benicia is alive and well and this week was super weird but super good.  Good thing: We had 17 total lessons this week! WHAT A BLESSING! The area presidency asked us to practice our teaching at members homes so that we can be teaching 15-20 lessons per week. They said that it takes 15-20 lessons to be able to become more effective teachers. The members here are AMAZING and We had 13 member lessons and 4 regular lessons. Which was truly incredible. God is so so so good.  Weird thing: We found a new guy named Allen this week but then he texted us right before our appointment and said he couldn't learn with us because he was too attracted to me...He is 43....so that was sad. Nothing makes you as attractive as having the Holy Ghost with you I guess...I just hope that one day he will be able to accept the message.  Good thing: We were asked ...

Week 29 Has it really been a whole Decade?

FRIENDS AND FAMILY, BROTHERS AND SISTERS, CHILDREN OF GOD, SO MANY PRETTY SUNSETS THIS WEEK!!! It was unreal and I am obsessed.  I feel like it has been since last decade that I wrote a weekly email....hah.  HAPPY NEW YEAR!! HAPPY 2020!! It is honestly the craziest thing in the world to me that it is 2020. I remember growing up and being like "woah in the year 2020 I will be 20." and now we are here and I still feel like I am 10, so that's fun. One of our bishops invited us over to their house for New Years Eve and we played games and drank sparkling cider. It was a good time, Sister Moala got to use Party poppers for the first time and We even did the countdown! (at 9:30 but still)  We had zone conference on Thursday and it was ALL about becoming a disciple of Jesus Christ and developing Christlike attributes. IT WAS SO GOOD. I learned so much, we also got to review the new handbook and IT IS SO GOOD! I LOVE IT. Honestly I think everyone should read it, so ...

Week 28 We're Innocent Officer

FRIENDS AND FAMILY, BROTHERS AND SISTERS, CHILDREN OF GOD, What a WONDERFUL time of year. I have felt so incredibly blessed this Christmas season. I feel spoiled that I get to be on a mission and that I get to focus so much on the Savior this Christmas. It is incredible. The members here have been AMAZING. We had Christmas Eve dinner at the Haights and it was the cutest thing I have ever eaten. She made a pot pie in the shape of a Christmas tree, Snowflake shaped creme brulee, and she made WASSELL!! (My favorite part since it is a family tradition to have Wassell on Christmas) We also had a delicious Christmas lunch at the Fioris house and they made some real good pumpkin pie. Which as we should all know by now, I am a sucker for.  Out of all the great things to choose from my favorite part of Christmas was spending it with Sister Moala. I made her Christmas breakfast and she couldn't stop telling me about how that breakfast would be history for her. She loved it so much (i...

Week 27 I'm a Palangy!

Image
FRIENDS AND FAMILY, BROTHERS AND SISTERS, CHILDREN OF GOD! BENICIA IS SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO BEAUTIFUL!!! IT IS LEGIT RIDICULOUS HOW PRETTY IT IS. Everywhere you go it is a hill. So we are ALWAYS driving uphill or downhill lol. Its weird, but fun weird. Some of the hills here are so big I would almost call them mountains...almost. Sister Moala says that it reminds her of Tonga. Except for the fact that here all the Palangys have giant houses. (Palangy=white people in Tongan)  We did A LOT of finding this week! Which was suprisingly really fun. Sister Moala is pretty much hilarious. We get along really well. Every finding time produces lots and lots of laughs. The people here are much nicer than in West Sac but also much less interested then in West Sac. Most of the doors we knock on either don't answer or they politely decline. But alas, we keep on knocking, keep on searching. There is someone out there ready to hear this amazing mess...

Week 26 Here lies my Dreams of Dying in West Sac

FRIENDS AND FAMILY, BROTHERS AND SISTERS, CHILDREN OF GOD,  I was wrong. Sadly it was not in the cards for me to stay in West Wack my whole mission. It will be missed. Saying goodbye was very bittersweet. I absolutely loved my time there and all of the people I had the privilege of serving around.  I AM NOW SERVING IN.....DRUM ROLL PLEAASSSEEEE.......BENECIA!! Benecia is about 45 minutes away from Napa. It is all rolling hills and it is super close to the ocean! So we have a beach in our area! My new companion is Sister Moala. She is from Tonga! She learned English in the MTC and has been on her mission for about 9 months! She seems super sweet and I am very excited for what the Lord has in store.  I was very sad to leave West Sac but I have found a lot of comfort this week knowing that I truly am in Gods hands. There is a poem that President Packer shared many years ago:  "Twas battered and scarred, and the auctioneer Thought it scarcely worth his...
